Mexican chemist Mario José Molina Henriquez lived from 19 March 1943 until 7 October 2020.

He was a key figure in the identification of the Antarctic ozone hole and shared the 1995 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work in identifying the danger that chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) chemicals posed to the ozone layer of the Planet.

He was the third Mexican-born recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the first Mexican-born scientist to do so.
