Manchester United are unlikely to make another bid for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite unless the Merseyside club significantly lowers their asking price.

Manchester United have been pursuing the defender to strengthen their backline, especially with Raphael Varane’s minutes needing replacement.

Despite Jarrad Branthwaite fitting the profile of a solid addition, Everton’s demand of around £70 million has stalled any further progress.

Reports suggest that Manchester United’s initial offer was approximately £43 million, including add-ons, but this falls short of Everton’s valuation.

As a result, Manchester United are exploring other options, such as Matthijs de Ligt, who might fit better within their budget constraints.

While United’s interest in Jarrad Branthwaite remains, the substantial price gap makes a deal seem unlikely unless Everton significantly drops their demands.

Given the financial constraints and need for strategic signings, United are not in a position to overspend.

Therefore, unless there is a major reduction in Everton’s asking price, Manchester United are expected to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements.
