Mahama stated on social media that such actions would only increase political tensions unnecessarily.
He emphasized the importance of justice in maintaining peace and stability, urging the Inspector General of Police and other authorities to refrain from using law enforcement to suppress opposition voices.

Mahama highlighted the suspicious timing of Koryoo’s detention, suggesting it was an attempt to intimidate her as she contests against the incumbent Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hawa Koomson.
He called for Koryoo’s immediate release and stressed the duty of the police to protect all citizens impartially, regardless of their political affiliations.
Mahama’s remarks underscore the broader concern about the misuse of state institutions to undermine democracy and suppress dissenting voices in the lead-up to the upcoming national elections. #JusticeForNaaKoryoo #FreeNaaKoryooNow
