Maame Dokono Fears Similar Mistake Which Led To Waakye’s Death Could Lead to Hers

Veteran actress Grace Omaboe, better known as Maame Dokono, worries she will die in the same way as the late actor Prince Yawson, also known as Waakye.

In an interview with Joy Prime, Maame Dokono said that the late actor died as a result of “somebody’s mistake”.

She said: “Waakye’s death was all of a sudden. It was somebody’s mistake, and Waakye was dead because I spoke with him on the morning of that day, and he was dead in the evening,” 

“I was so devastated and didn’t know what to do. So, maybe my death will be like that.” 

However, the veteran actress aspires to live as long as her mother, who died after a century.

“I’m almost 80. I’m hoping to be like my mother. She was 115 years old, and if I take good care of myself, I should be able to live like her.”

On August 2, 2022, the Ghanaian film industry was shocked to learn of the death of legendary actor Prince Yawson, also known as Waakye.

He died after being transported to 37 Military Hospital the night before.

Shortly after Waakye died, Maame Dokono revealed the cause of his death in an interview.

She stated that Waakye was initially taken to Ridge Hospital, but due to a scarcity of hospital beds, he was rushed to 37 Military Hospital.

According to her, Waakye died a week later when the healthy-looking actor, her, and several pals attended a 70th birthday party for one of their colleagues.
