As the final actress to play Grizabella in the original Broadway run of Cats, Linda Balgord was an American Broadway actress and singer best known for her roles as Norma Desmond in the 1996 United States tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Sunset Boulevard and Queen Elizabeth I in The Pirate Queen.

Balgord performed at the Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, from 1982 to 1984, the year between her undergraduate degree and the start of her doctoral studies.
After five months after moving to New York in 1990, she was cast in the lead role of Aspects of Love, a two-year national tour. Passion marked her Broadway debut. On March 5, 2024, Linda Balgord passed away in Naples, Florida, at the age of 64.
