Lilwin’s “A Country Called Ghana” Earns Black Star International Film Festival Nomination

“A Country Called Ghana,” a new film by Kojo Nkansah ‘Lilwin,’ has received a nomination at the 2024 Black Star International Film Festival.

Competing for the ‘Black Star Movie of the Year’ title, the film was directed by Frank Fiifi Gharbin and produced by Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin.

This Ghana-Nigeria collaboration features prominent actors such as Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, Victor Osuagwu (Awilo Sharp Sharp), Paa George, and Sweet Mimi.

The film has garnered international attention, securing a cinema distribution deal and screenings worldwide.

It has also earned nominations in Germany, New Zealand, and at the IMO International Film Festival, and will be shown at the Nollywood Film Festival.

The Black Star International Film Festival, held annually in Accra, Ghana, aims to highlight and celebrate the works of African filmmakers and those from the diaspora. It provides a platform for showcasing African films globally.

Kwadwo Nkansah, known professionally as Lilwin, is a well-known Ghanaian artiste, actor, and comedian. He is the founder and director of Great Minds International School in Kumasi and the CEO of Weezy Empire in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
