Lauren Daigle is a Grammy-winning American contemporary Christian music singer and songwriter from Louisiana.
Lauren Ashley Daigle was born on September 9, 1991, in Lafayette, Louisiana to parents, Laura and Mark Daigle. She was raised alongside her siblings, Madison and Brandon.
Lauren’s music interest goes back as far her childhood when she used to sing all day with her mother nicknaming her “The music box”. At a point in time, she contracted a disease, infectious mononucleosis which delayed her education for nearly two years but it was during that period that she enhanced her musical skills.
Soon after, Daigle attended a charter school, graduating early after she completed a year and a half of class work in six months. She proceeded to Brazil where she did mission work for a year.
Lauren later completed her college education at Louisiana State University bagging a degree in Child and Family Studies.

Lauren Daigle grew up surrounded by gospel, zydeco, blues, and Cajun music which defined her musical skills. She once participated in the singing competition show ‘American Idol’ in both 2010 and 2012 but could not turn out successful as she didn’t reach the finals in either year.
Lauren, however, made her singing debut on North Point InsideOut’s album titled ‘Hear’ where she recorded “You Alone” and “Close” live at the North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia.
While at Louisiana State University, Lauren helped a local band “The Assemblie” with vocals on an EP and fortunately a demo of the EP made its way to the Centricity Music label. The label later signed her as a solo artist in 2013.
The singer’s first single, “Light of the World” which introduced her to the Christian music scene got her the needed attention for which she released the five-song debut EP “How Can It Be” in September 2014.
Later In the spring of 2015, Daigle released her debut full-length studio album titled ‘How Can It Be’ on April 14. The album was able to reach number 30 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and was later certified Platinum.
Eighteen months after its release, “How Can It Be” achieved Gold Record status. It’s singles “How Can It Be”, “First” and “Trust in You” also acquired the Number 1 spots. The album was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 2016 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
Lauren Daigle followed up her success in October 2016 with her first Christmas album of soft jazz-inspired songs called “Behold: A Christmas Collection” which reached Number 29 on the Billboard 200.
Daigle became the first artist to reach number one on five Christian charts simultaneously as well as the highest-ranking Christian album of a woman on the Billboard. In 2019, she collected Grammys for her single “You Say” and album “Look Up Child” (Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song and Album).
