The coach expressed his regret over the manner in which he handled his resignation announcement and assured Ghanaians of his commitment to the team for the remainder of the tournament.
Kingston announced his resignation before the tournament concluded, a decision that he now acknowledges was premature and poorly timed. He has since vowed to remain in his position until the end of the tournament, aiming to provide stability and support to the team during this challenging period.
“I want to sincerely apologize to the people of Ghana for my actions and the timing of my resignation announcement,” Kingston said in a statement. “I understand the disappointment of not qualifying for the final, which was our primary objective. I take full responsibility for our shortcomings and am committed to seeing the tournament through to its end.”

The coach’s apology and commitment to remain with the team have been met with a mix of reactions from fans and stakeholders. While some appreciate his willingness to acknowledge mistakes and learn from them, others remain concerned about the team’s performance and future prospects.
As the Black Starlets prepare for their remaining matches in the WAFU Tournament, all eyes will be on Kingston and the team to see how they respond to the recent setbacks.
