Spain launched their Euro 2024 campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Croatia at Berlin’s Olympiastadion in Germany.

The Spanish side controlled the first half, with Alvaro Morata breaking the deadlock after a brilliant pass from Fabian Ruiz.

Fabian Ruiz then doubled the lead shortly after. Just before halftime, Dani Carvajal sealed the win by finishing off a cross from teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.

Lamine Yamal, at only 16 years and 338 days old, set a new record as the youngest player ever to start in a men’s European Championship match.

Additionally, Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to contribute a goal in the Euros after his cross was connected by Dani Carvajal.

Despite not scoring, Lamine Yamal delivered a standout performance, showcasing his potential on the big stage.

Croatia struggled to pose any significant threat. Their best opportunity came when Josko Gvardiol’s shot narrowly missed the target. A late penalty appeal was dismissed following a VAR review for encroachment.
