Upcoming singer Ayo Maff has found himself at the center of controversy following a sharp rebuke from SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Lagos Police.

The criticism stems from the lyrics of Maff’s latest song, “Last Week,” which the Lagos State police command has deemed “indecent.”
In the song, Ayo Maff makes a bold claim in the opening line about using “Canadian Loud,” a potent strain of marijuana, on the first day of the week and informing his dealer by Saturday that he has run out.

The lyrics have sparked backlash from authorities who are concerned about the message being promoted.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin took to social media to voice his concerns, reacting to a widely circulated clip of the song on X.
In his response, Hundeyin emphasized the dangers of drug abuse, highlighting its link to criminal activity and its impact on youth.
“He does what on Mondays and Saturdays? Help me listen,” Hundeyin wrote. “Like Asa said, there is fire on the mountain and nobody seems to be on the run… Fact: Half of the young ones in prison today wouldn’t be there if they didn’t do drugs. Drugs are a precursor to everything bad.”
