However, for the residents of Ladade-kotopon, their decision on who will represent them in Parliament hinges largely on the unresolved challenges gripping their constituency.

Historically, the La dade-kotopon seat has predominantly been held by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1996, despite a brief stint by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2000.

As the December 7 elections approach, local voters are focusing on critical issues affecting their daily lives.

Access to healthcare has become increasingly difficult following the demolition of the La general hospital for reconstruction, a move initiated by the current administration. Yet, progress has been slow, leaving residents dissatisfied.

Economic hardships have compounded these challenges, making life tougher for many. Residents lament that the cost of basic necessities has skyrocketed, far outpacing their incomes.

Road infrastructure also remains a sore point. While initial joy greeted the news of the Osu-La-Kpeshie road reconstruction, frustration set in when the project stalled, leaving sections in disrepair and causing traffic snarls.

Education is another key concern, with local youth advocating for policies to enhance learning opportunities in the area.

With over eighty-eight thousand eligible voters, Ladade-kotopon represents a significant constituency in Greater Accra Region.

Incumbent MP Rita Odoley Sowah faces a tough challenge from the NPP’s Joseph Addo, with both candidates hoping to sway voters by addressing these pressing local issues.
