In the documentary, Nyantakyi was recorded making statements that implied the involvement of the president and certain cabinet ministers in corrupt activities, thus damaging their reputations.
In an interview with Onua TV, Nyantakyi confessed to his misdeeds, admitting that during a meeting with purported investors, he spoke inappropriately by suggesting the necessity of offering bribes to the president and his vice to expedite business transactions in Ghana.

“I admit I was wrong to mention the President [Akufo-Addo] and his Vice [Dr Mahamudu Bawumia] in that incident. I am sorry and I hope they forgive me,” Nyantakyi said.

Nyantakyi’s apology is part of his effort to regain trust from party members and higher-ups after his choice to run in the by-elections for the Ejisu Constituency position, which became available after the passing of John Kumah.
The ‘Number 12’ investigation resulted in Nyantakyi stepping down from all his roles in football administration, including positions at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the FIFA Council.
His apology signifies a notable stride in his endeavors to reconcile with those impacted by the repercussions of the documentary.
Nyantakyi mentioned that representatives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will procure nomination forms on his behalf after he declared his aspiration to serve as a member of parliament.
