The footage, which caused uproar, prompted the EC to suspend the implicated officials pending investigations.
In the video, Nyarko is seen approaching the EC officials’ table at the Fumesua Pentecost Church polling center and leaving an envelope, suspected to contain money, before leaving.
He clarified in an interview that he didn’t mean to influence the officials with the envelope’s contents and is willing to cooperate with police investigations.
The EC swiftly withdrew the two temporary staff members involved and stressed its dedication to integrity and transparency in elections.

The commission explained that initial findings revealed the envelope contained funds for the officials’ lunch expenses, as Nyarko had inquired about their meals before leaving the envelope.
Dr Serebour Quaicoe, the EC’s Director of Electoral Services, confirmed an investigation into the alleged bribery incident, with the outcome determining further actions.
Amidst the suspension and ongoing investigations, the EC urged calm, emphasizing its commitment to integrity and transparency.
The Ejisu by-election, following the death of MP Dr John Kumah, has six candidates vying for the seat, making the integrity of the electoral process crucial for public trust.
