Legal expert Martin Kpebu has urged Attorney-General Godfred Dame and EOCO Director Tiwaah Addo Danquah to involve him in reviewing former Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah’s case.

Kpebu believes there’s sufficient evidence against Dapaah for prosecution, alleging attempts to shield her.

This call follows the Attorney General’s advice to EOCO against investigating money laundering in Dapaah’s affairs.

The AG highlighted a lack of evidence linking her to corruption or money laundering. Instead, the CID was directed to handle fund origins, as per previous instructions.

Kpebu suspects a conspiracy to exonerate Dapaah, citing past cases mishandled by EOCO.

He questioned inconsistencies between the AG’s statements and directives to EOCO, suggesting a deliberate effort to clear Dapaah’s name.

Dapaah’s case involves over $1 million found in her possession, with claims that the money originated from funeral donations and personal sources.

Despite this, Kpebu insists on a thorough review of the case’s evidence, challenging authorities to involve independent experts like himself.

The controversy underscores concerns about impartiality and due process within Ghana’s legal system, prompting calls for transparency and accountability in high-profile cases.
