Kevin Spacey, the renowned actor, has expressed his determination to not passively endure the allegations presented in a Channel 4 documentary that delves into past sexual assault claims against him.

This development follows his acquittal last year on several charges of sexual misconduct, which were brought by four men for incidents dating from 2001 to 2013, as determined by Southwark Crown Court.

The documentary, titled ‘Spacey Unmasked’ and set to air this month, features individuals discussing their interactions with Spacey. However, the actor has voiced his discontent with Channel 4’s refusal to grant him more than a week to address the new claims, which he argues lack specificity and anonymity.

Spacey insists that when given adequate time and a proper platform to defend himself, he has successfully refuted such accusations. He plans to issue a formal response soon and suggests that Channel 4, along with the production company Roast Beef Productions, might be left without a rebuttal.

In his own words on X,

“Over the last week, I have repeatedly requested that @Channel4 afford me more than seven days to respond to allegations made against me dating back 48 years and provide me with sufficient details to investigate these matters. Channel 4 has refused on the basis that they feel that asking for a response in seven days to new, anonymised and non-specific allegations is a ‘fair opportunity’ for me to refute any allegations made against me.

“I will not sit back and be attacked by a dying network’s one-sided ‘documentary’ about me in their desperate attempt for ratings. There’s a proper channel to handle allegations against me and it’s not Channel 4. Each time I have been given the time and a proper forum to defend myself, the allegations have failed under scrutiny and I have been exonerated.”
