Kevin Parsons, a long-serving politician in Newfoundland and Labrador, passed away on August 15, 2024, at age 63. He is being fondly remembered by friends and colleagues for his unwavering dedication to his constituents.

Parsons, a member of the Progressive Conservative Party, represented Cape St. Francis in the House of Assembly from 2008 to 2021.
Prior to his time in the Assembly, Parsons served as the mayor of Flatrock and more recently returned to local governance as a member of the town council.
Tributes to Parsons have poured in following the news of his passing. PC leader Tony Wakeham described Parsons as one of the kindest and most respected politicians, noting that his devotion to his constituents was as strong as his commitment to his own family.

Premier Andrew Furey echoed these sentiments, highlighting Parsons’ compassion and the significant impact he had on the province during his years of service.
Parsons’ deep involvement in his community extended beyond politics. He worked for nearly three decades in the office equipment industry and played active roles as president of the Flatrock Community Centre and as a coach for the Holy Trinity High boys’ hockey team.
David Brazil, a close colleague and friend, expressed his profound loss, stating that words cannot fully capture Parsons’ influence.
The Town of Torbay also paid tribute, acknowledging the lasting legacy Parsons left on his community and the province. Kevin Parsons’ memory and contributions will not be forgotten.
