Popular Nigerian journalist and blogger Kemi Olunloyo has taken to Twitter to share a story about how Hushpuppi abandoned her when she needed money for a surgical operation at a time when she almost lost her right leg.
Sharing her own experience in the hands of the unjust SARS officials, Kemi made mention that her earlier message about SARS which most people interpreted that she was in support of SARS was totally misconstrued. Adding that, it was her encounter with SARS that nearly cost her a leg.
She said: “They suffered me, they took me to their headquarter at SARS. What I saw at sars, a journalist is not meant to see that. Men were held up in cells, 60 to 80 men in a tiny cell. They are just praying from 6 am to 7 pm because they don’t know who is next”.
“When they open a cell door, and I know because I have been in prison, 3 times, 4 times. When you open a cell door it’s either they are going to visit someone or they are going home. But at SARS in Alu, it could be they are going to be executed.”
Kemi also revealed that she reached out to Instagram big boy Hushpuppi after she was released to help her with money for treatment. However, Hushpuppi rather mocked her instead of lending her a helping hand.
“My right leg is gone”, she lamented.
She stated that her right leg is healing slowly after she had undergone surgery and therefore cannot join the protest.
If I die in the next hour in this bed, I have fulfilled everything I have to” kemi added.
