A Federal High Court has ordered the Kano government to pay a ₦10 million penalty for violating the rights of the former Emir Aminu Bayero.

Justice Liman Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Kano State delivered a significant ruling affirming Bayero’s right to fair hearing.
On Thursday, June 13, Justice Mohammed issued a verdict in a case initiated by Aminu Baba Dan Agundi, a kingmaker.

Agundi’s case focused on the fundamental human rights of Bayero amidst the ongoing turmoil within the emirate.
In addition, Channels TV reported that the Kano State High Court instructed Bayero and four other emirs to be served through substitution in a separate case initiated by the Kano State Government. This case aims to prevent them from functioning as emirs.
