An Owerri resident has stirred up a storm on social media by unveiling a Shawarma stand named after the late Nollywood star, Junior Pope, in her hometown.

Displaying her creation on TikTok via her handle @kamso_thefirst, the resident showcased the new hotspot for Shawarma enthusiasts and digital transactions.
The initiative, seemingly freshly launched, pays homage to the actor who graced screens since 2006, featuring in notable productions like “Secret Adventures” (2007) and “Bitter Generation” (2010).
However, tragedy struck during the filming of “The Other Side of Life” when a river accident claimed not only the lives of three crew members but also Junior Pope’s.

The unveiling of the Shawarma stand named in his honor has sparked a wave of mixed reactions online, given that the news of his passing is still raw, having occurred a mere two weeks prior.
The actor’s untimely demise, just shy of his 40th birthday on April 10, 2024, has left many reeling from the loss of a talented individual.
Nevertheless, this unique tribute serves as a proof of the lasting impact he made on his community and beyond.
