Fenerbahce has officially announced Jose Mourinho as their new manager, just a day after he made news at Wembley. The 61-year-old Mourinho traveled to Turkey following his stint as a commentator for TNT Sports at the Champions League final held at Wembley.

Mourinho steps into the shoes of Ismail Kartal, who guided Fenerbahce to a close second place in the Turkish Super Lig last season, just behind Galatasaray.

Known as “The Special One”, Mourinho has committed to a contract that runs until 2026, with an option to extend for another season. This development follows his exit from Roma in January.

Before deciding to join the team based in Istanbul, Mourinho was rumored to be considering several positions, including a possible return to Manchester United.
With Fenerbahce finishing second, they are set to participate in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League.
Mourinho’s new role brings him back together with Fred, a former Manchester United midfielder who had a successful season with Fenerbahce, scoring three goals and providing eight assists.
In addition, Mourinho will have access to a host of ex-Premier League players, including Michy Batshuayi, Dusan Tadic, Caglar Soyuncu, Cengiz Under, and Edin Dzeko.
