The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has stated that Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, his running mate for the 2024 general elections, possesses the honesty required for the work at hand.

Mr. Mahama says he is happy to have her as his running partner.
He wrote on X: “I am proud to have Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as my running mate. Her integrity, dedication, and vision for a better Ghana make her the ideal candidate to join me in leading our party to victory in the upcoming elections.”
Prof Opoku Agyemang also informed the NDC and Mr. Mahama that she would give her best throughout the 2024 campaign.
The party made her selection public on Thursday, March 7.
About Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang
Prof. Opoku Agyemang is a respected academic and leader known for her commitment to education and public service.
She has established herself as a pathfinder for women in leadership in Ghana, having served as Minister of Education and the first female Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast.
In a statement reacting to her announcement, she said, “Today, I received the news of my confirmed selection as the Running Mate to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Flagbearer and Leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and incoming President of the Republic of Ghana with profound humility and great honour.

“It is worthy of note that this is the second time former President John Mahama has nominated me as his Running Mate. I express my eternal gratitude to him. By this choice, our Flagbearer has demonstrated remarkable consistency, an unwavering commitment to inclusivity and innovation, and an inspirational belief in the Ghanaian woman.
“I wish to convey my heartfelt appreciation to the NDC Council of Elders, the National Executive Committee, the rank and file of our party, friends, well-wishers and indeed all Ghanaians for the overwhelming support and endorsement.
