John Kumah, Ghana’s Deputy Finance Minister Dies at 45

John Kumah, the Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ejisu, has passed away at the age of 45 after a brief illness, according to sources close to his family.

He leaves behind a wife and six children. Known as Lawyer John Kumah, he was esteemed by his constituents in Ejisu, Ghana, for his integrity and dedication to fostering job creation and hope for the future.

Starting as the Managing Director of Majak Associates Ltd, a construction firm, Kumah later established Aduaprokye Chambers upon becoming a lawyer.

In 2017, he was appointed CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) by the President. During his tenure, NEIP trained 45,000 startups and supported 10,000 beneficiaries, significantly contributing to youth employment nationwide.

With over 17 years of leadership experience, Kumah was recognized for his creativity and resourcefulness in job creation and youth development.

He received accolades such as the Most Efficient, Prominent Government Appointee in 2018 and inclusion in President Akufo Addo’s top 20 Most Humble and Respectful Appointees in 2019.

A dedicated member of the NPP, Kumah actively served the party since 1992, founding the Young Patriots, a youth political activist group. He also contributed as a member of the NPP’s Communication Team.

In Ejisu, Kumah fulfilled promises to his constituents by securing funding for infrastructure and job creation projects.

His legacy of service and commitment to empowering Ghanaian youth will be remembered fondly by many.
