Joel Matip, the 32-year-old Cameroonian centre back, is set to bid farewell to Liverpool Football Club after playing for the English club for eight years.

Joel Matip joined the Reds in 2016 as a free agent after a long spell with Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga.
The centre back is set to move to join a new team elsewhere, maybe in the USA or Saudi Arabia, as he takes the next step in his footballing career.

Joel Matip has been a very instrumental figure for Liverpool in all competitions and was a member of the Liverpool that won the Premier League title in 2020 after 30 years of wait.

In total, Joel Matip made 201 appearances for Liverpool and bagged 11 goals. He won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FA Community Shield.
Klopp made comment about Matip and it reads: “In all the years that I have been involved in football, I am not sure I have come across too many players who are more loved than Joel Matip. I’m not even sure it would be possible to say anything bad about him.”
