Jeff Carter Parents: Meet Sue Carter, Jim Carter

Jeff Carter is a professional ice hockey player from Canada. He is the son of Sue Carter and Jim Carter.

Jeff Carter’s father is a coach. He previously played hockey as a forward. Jeff Carter’s father’s claim to fame was being chosen in the 1976 Ontario Hockey League draft between Mike Gartner and Dino Ciccarelli.

Jim Carter hung up his skates after the worst season in Oshawa Generals history and went to work at a local copper mill.

Speaking about his father in an interview, Jeff Carter said “He was never one of those dads who just pushes, pushes, pushes. With him, you go play, you go home and you leave the game at the rink. He just wanted me to go out and have fun and it all worked out.”

Jeff Carter is currently playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he was traded to in April 2021. Since joining the Penguins, Carter has been a valuable addition to the team, scoring several goals and providing leadership on the ice.

He has played in over 1,100 regular season games in his NHL career and has accumulated over 400 goals and 400 assists, making him one of the most prolific scorers in the league.
