Esbell was born in 1979 in Raposa Serra do Sol in the land of the Macushi. The Macushi are indigenous people living in the borderlands of southern Guyana, northern Brazil in the state of Roraima.

Jaider Esbell was a Macushi artist whose work was included in the current edition of the Bienal de São Paulo. Esbell’s paintings usually portray brightly painted animals interacting with the landscapes in which they are set.

Esbell grew up participating in various social movements Under the guidance of Bernaldina José Pedro, an Indigenous rights activist.
Esbell left his village to work as an electrician At age 18. His electrician job was his source of income for 20 years before quitting in 2016 to focus on his art full-time.
Cause Of Jaider Esbell’s Death
Esbell was found dead in Sao Paulo. Esbell’s unexpected death came as a surprise to his relatives and friends. However, the cause of his death is currently not available to the public.
