I’ve Lost Respect for Coach Finidi George Says Victor Osimhen

Napoli’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, has publicly criticized Super Eagles coach Finidi George, expressing his disappointment and loss of respect for the coach following comments about his commitment to the national team.

Finidi George recently stated that he would not plead with Victor Osimhen to play for Nigeria after the striker missed the last two 2026 World Cup qualifiers due to an injury.

In the wake of Nigeria’s poor performances against South Africa and Benin. Finidi George reportedly attributed the team’s poor attitude to Osimhen’s absence.

Victor Osimhen, clearly frustrated by these remarks, took to Instagram Live on Saturday to clarify his position.

Osimhen detailed the circumstances surrounding his withdrawal from the qualifiers, emphasizing that Finidi was fully informed by both him and his doctor.

Osimhen stated: “I anticipated situations like this, which is why I have videos and screenshots from when I called Finidi while I was with the doctor in Germany. I called Finidi from there so he could hear the doctor’s assessment firsthand.”
