Persiani, born on April 11, 1984, had a successful career in motorsport, beginning in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and International Formula Master.

After a brief hiatus, he returned to racing in 2013, becoming a race winner in the European Le Mans Series with SMP Racing.

Persiani later moved into a coaching role, working with teams like Prema Racing, Iron Lynx, and Ferrari, while also competing part-time in Lamborghini Super Trofeo in North America.

His life was cut short when the 4×4 Jeep he was driving fell down a ravine near Frattura, Italy.

The motorsport community has been mourning his loss, with many colleagues remembering him for his skill, enthusiasm, and positive impact on those around him.

“Luca, you were an amazing person to be around. You have helped me a lot over the past few years and I can’t be more appreciative of being able to have you in my journey. Rest easy mate,” said Formula Regional racer James Wharton in his tribute.

“Thanks for everything Luca; your personality and enthusiasm lit up every room you entered, I will always remember all the moments we had together,” Chloe Chong, who worked under Persiani in F1 Academy last year, shared.
