President Gabriele Gravina, the president of the Italian Football Federation, has confirmed that Luciano Spalletti will remain as head coach of Italy’s national team, despite their early exit from Euro 2024 at the round of 16.

Addressing the media from the national team’s training base in Iserlohn, Germany, Gabriele Gravina emphasized the federation’s commitment to Luciano Spalletti.

“We have nothing to hide, but we must continue to take responsibility. There was a long chat with the coach yesterday, and I think that it is unthinkable to solve the problems by abandoning a multi-year project after eight to nine months,” Gravina explained.
Gabriele Gravina also noted the importance of stability and trust in their ongoing project: “Central to our project is a coach who has been here for nine to ten months, who has not always had all the players available.”
