Burgess was not fond of traveling “in art circles with collectors and high society,” according to an interview with Investor’s Business Daily. As a result, she pursued work outside of art after graduating from college.
For the whole of The Backyardigans’ four-season existence, Janice Burgess was the executive producer. To adapt high-stakes stories for a younger audience, Burgess took inspiration from action movies while creating the show’s episodes.
