Ipswich Town have secured the singing of Manchester City defensive midfielder Kalvin Phillips on a season-long loan as they hope to form a formidable squad in the first Premier League season after two decades.

The deal is such that Manchester City will cover part of Kalvin Phillips’ wages whiles Ipswich Town covers the other part.
The 28-year-old England international chose Ipswich over several Premier League clubs, impressed by discussions with manager Kieran McKenna and chairman Mark Ashton.

Kalvin Phillips, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at West Ham, is available to debut in Ipswich Town’s Premier League opener against Liverpool.
He expressed excitement about the move, aiming to play regularly and help Ipswich succeed in the top flight.
Despite his success with England and his transfer to Manchester City for £45 million in 2022, Kalvin Phillips has made only five Premier League for them starts since then.
