Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Sammie Szmodics from Blackburn Rovers for a fee believed to be £9 million, potentially rising to £10 million with add-ons.

The 28-year-old striker, who was the Championship’s top scorer last season with 27 goals, has already started this term strongly, netting three times in recent matches.
Sammie Szmodics scored against Derby in Blackburn’s 4-2 victory and added two more goals in a 6-1 Carabao Cup win over Stockport.

Sammie Szmodics has been registered in time to feature in Ipswich’s upcoming Premier League match against Liverpool. His addition will bolster Ipswich’s attacking options as they aim to make an impact in the top flight.
Prior to joining Premier League side Ipswich Town, Sammie Szmodics has played for teams like Colchester United, Braintree Town, Bristol City, Peterborough United, and Blackburn Rovers.
On the international level, Sammie Szmodics has made just four appearances for the Republic of Ireland.
