Ingrid Williams, the wife of Monty Williams, a former NBA player, and coach, was involved in a car accident on Tuesday night in Oklahoma City. According to reports, a different driver hit her car head-on after crossing the center lane.

After being taken to a hospital right afterward, Ingrid Williams tragically passed away on Wednesday night as a result of the injuries she sustained in the collision. The driver of the second vehicle was determined to be dead at the scene.

At the time of the accident, Ingrid Williams was traveling with her three children. While one child has been released from the hospital, the other two youngsters are expected to recover from their injuries.

The five children of Monty and Ingrid Williams range in age from 5 to 17 years.
Monty Williams, a three-year player and coaching intern with the San Antonio Spurs, was understandably devastated by the untimely passing of his wife. Gregg Popovich, the head coach of the Spurs, almost opted to sit out his team’s game on Wednesday after learning of Ingrid Williams’ passing.
Popovich spoke to the media after his team beat the Orlando Magic while having tears in his eyes and some of them wiped away. Coach of the Denver Nuggets Mike Malone was grieved by Ingrid Williams’ passing because he knew Monty Williams.
