Detained overnight by the Ghana Police Service last Friday, June 7, Okunor’s ordeal has stirred widespread concern among NDC members and supporters.
While the police have cited suspicions regarding the transfer of firearms without authorization as grounds for her detention, Okunor maintains she has yet to receive official clarification on the matter.
In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Eyewitness News, she recounted the bewildering experience of being taken into custody without being informed of the charges against her.

Despite claims of discrepancies in the spelling of her name on official documents, Okunor asserts her innocence, suggesting she is being unfairly blamed for the oversight of a police officer.
This lack of clarity and apparent injustice has fueled outrage within NDC circles.
The case has now been referred to the Office of the Attorney-General for further examination, prolonging Okunor’s uncertainty.
As the investigation unfolds, questions linger regarding the transparency and fairness of the legal process, underscoring the importance of upholding due process and protecting individuals’ rights.
