As Vladimir Putin’s “de facto deputy” and close ally, Igor Ivanovich Sechin is a Russian oligarch and political politician. Beginning in the early 1990s, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been close to Sechin. When Putin was St. Petersburg’s deputy mayor in 1994, Sechin served as his chief of staff.

He served as the mayor of Saint Petersburg’s office from 1991 to 1996. In 1994, he was appointed chief of staff to Vladimir Putin, the city’s first deputy mayor.
Sechin was placed on a blacklist by the European Union and had all of his assets frozen on February 28, 2022, in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. A travel ban and the freeze of Sechin’s assets were among the punishments that the UK government announced in March.

After 5 years of marriage, he divorced his second wife Olga Rozhkova (Russian: Ольга Рожкова; born 1990) on 14 June 2017.
