“I Will Not Meddle in the Operations of Anti-Corruption Agencies as President,” – Mahama

The flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to take a firm stand against corruption if elected as president in the December 7 polls.

Speaking at the Christian Service University’s (CSU) 50th Anniversary public lecture in Kumasi, on the theme “Sustainability of Democracy in Africa: The Ghanaian Experience,” the former president made it clear that he will not act as a “clearing agent” in the fight against corruption.

Mahama emphasized that individuals who have looted state resources will face prosecution and imprisonment. He assured that there will be no sacred cows, and anyone found guilty of corruption will face the full force of the law.

He also emphasized his commitment to empowering anti-corruption institutions to operate without political interference, promising to ensure greater transparency in government operations.

John Mahama added that the country’s anti-corruption institutions will have the independence they need to function effectively, and his government will maintain an open and transparent administration if the NDC wins the polls.
