During a meeting with members of the creative arts sector on Friday, June 7, Mahama pledged to address the numerous challenges plaguing the sector. He also highlighted some initiatives that were put in place during his presidency but have been hindered by the current government.

Mahama further urged the government to invest in the creative sector. He recalled how they had previously tried to help. They had provided cars to some members who were using public transportation to get around, in an effort to maintain their dignity.

This was done through the Ministry of Tourism, which procured and distributed the cars. This was only the first phase, and they had planned to do it in stages.
However, after they left office, the program was discontinued. He also heard that some of the cars were taken back from the members, which he found regrettable.
He concluded by saying that Nkrumah had faith in the creative arts and invested in it. He believes that the government should also invest in the creative arts.
