“I Was Scammed and Couldn’t Even Feed Myself,” Asantewaa Recounts Ordeal

Ghanaian TikToker Martina Dwamena, popularly known as Asantewaa, has opened up about a distressing ordeal where she fell victim to a scam, leaving her unable to even afford basic necessities.

Asantewaa recounted how she entrusted a significant amount of money into a business venture, only to have the person managing it betray her trust by misappropriating the funds without any intention of repayment.

In an emotional interview with Emelia Brobbey, Asantewaa revealed the profound impact of the scam on her finances and personal well-being. “I invested everything I had in the shop, hoping to see a return. But instead, I lost it all,” she lamented.

The situation became dire for Asantewaa, who struggled to make ends meet and even went without enough money to feed herself. She faced this hardship alone, not wanting to burden her husband, who was abroad at the time.

However, amidst the challenging times, Asantewaa found support from unexpected quarters. Notable figures such as media personality Delay and dancer Dancegod Lloyd stepped in to offer financial assistance, along with other friends who rallied around her during her time of need.

Reflecting on the experience, Asantewaa expressed gratitude for the lessons learned and the support received. “It could be that it’s God’s lesson for me,” she mused.

Despite the setback, Asantewaa has since bounced back, with her businesses now thriving once more. Her resilience and determination to overcome adversity have been evident as she moves forward from the unfortunate incident.
