Mona Faiz Montrage, also known as Hajia4Reall, was sentenced to one year and one day in prison by an American court on June 28, 2024, in connection with a romance fraud case that began with her extradition from the United Kingdom in 2023.

Hajia4Reall pleaded guilty earlier this year, leading to her sentencing in the United States. Her lawyers had requested a three-month jail term, highlighting her role as a mother to a young daughter and her lack of previous criminal records.
The prosecution, however, argued for a longer sentence to serve as a deterrent to others involved in similar fraudulent activities.

According to Inner City Press, an American outfit that has closely followed the case, Hajia4Reall became emotional during her sentencing. She expressed deep remorse, particularly emphasizing her shame as a mother to her 8-year-old daughter.
“I want to pay them back. I feel shame as a mother of an 8-year-old daughter. “Please have mercy on me,” she reportedly said, pleading for leniency in her sentencing.
