“I Could Have Done Better” – Tems On Her Performance On Wizkid’s Essence

Nigerian singer, Tems, has opened up on her performance on Wizkid’s popular song, Essence.

Speaking in an interview with Dotty Show on Apple Music, Tems revealed that on the day she recorded her verse of the song, she realised that she could have done better. She also mentioned that she asked the team to allow her to redo the verse again but the team said it was okay.

Tems stated that through it all, she is excited about her performance and she believes that was a platform to make her better.

Tems said;

“Even (on) the day I recorded (my verse on the song), I felt I could do better. I asked them to send me the beat again so I could redo my verse but they (Wizkid’s team) said it was great. I told them I still wanted to ‘top it’ but they did not let me.”

“However, I was happy with it. I always like to challenge myself and I used to be such a perfectionist. Wizkid also said he liked it.”
