The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says it is untrue claims about Ghana’s status as a Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC).
A statement sighted from the IMF’s Resident Representative to Ghana, Dr Albert Touna-Mama; said
“The HIPC Initiative is essentially closed for countries that have already reached the Completion Point. As you may recall, Ghana successfully reached the Completion Point in July 2004.”
He shared that any interpretation in that regards is flawed in thinking.
“Any such interpretation is flawed and maybe deceptive,” Dr Touna-Mama noted in the statement.”
