African players are almost in every league and most are the talking point in the top five leagues. We are looking at the top five high paid African footballers who are actively playing football.

Mohammed Salah

Liverpool talisman Mohammed Salah is the highest-paid African footballer with a weekly wage of £200,000. The Egyptian god was very instrumental to the club’s Uefa Champions League win and having been to the final on two consecutive times. Mohammed Salah along with Sadio Mane of Senegal help Liverpool to win their first Premier League title to end the over thirty years drought.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Former Borrusia Dortmund forward who now plays for Arsenal football club in the English Premier League is the second-highest-paid African footballer. Aubameyang also receives a weekly wage of £200,000 the same as Mohammed Salah. Mohammed Salah’s bonuses put him ahead of Pierre Aubameyang.

Odion Ighalo

Manchester United forward and former ex-Super Eagles of Nigeria and Shanghai Greenland Shenhua attacker is the third highest-paid African footballer currently. He earns a weekly salary of £180,000 from both his parent and loan club Manchester United. Odion Ighalo was known for his composure and clinical finish in front of the post. Although he is not retired, he ow not the fearsome attacker we used to know.

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane is a Senegalese and Liverpool versatile player. Sadio Mane is known for his attacking prowess when operating as a winger. He joined Liverpool from Southampton Football Club and earns a weekly wage of £150,000. Sadio Mane has won the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League with Liverpool FC.

Nicolas Pepe

Ivorian international and Arsenal winger, Nicolas Pepe is the fifth highest-paid African footballer currently. He earns £140,000 a week. He joined Arsenal from Lille in the French Ligue 1 for a record fee of £72 million.
