In a recent press conference, Renard confirmed his decision to step down from his position after completing his contract with the French team.
“This will be the last one; it’s the final stretch, and in international competitions, sometimes it ends very quickly, regardless of the date. Once the last match is played, there’s often great joy, but everyone goes their separate ways a bit. I’m used to it; this will be my 11th international competition. It won’t be without a touch of emotion,” Renard stated.
Renard expressed pride in his tenure with the French team and remains hopeful they will achieve further success in the future.
“The pride of having worn this uniform for the French team and finishing on a very positive note. There’s still one step to go, but I’m confident that the French team will clinch a title in the near future, hopefully as soon as possible,” he added.

Renard, who has previously led Zambia and Ivory Coast to Africa Cup of Nations victories in 2012 and 2015 respectively, is now linked with a potential return to Africa.
Reports suggest that the Nigerian Football Federation is in discussions with the 55-year-old coach about taking over their national team.
While initial talks have commenced, no formal agreement has been reached yet, leaving Renard’s next move uncertain. Nigerian authorities are eager to secure the services of the experienced coach, known for his success on the African continent.
Fans and analysts await further developments to see if Renard will indeed make a return to African football with Nigeria, adding another chapter to his illustrious coaching career.
