Henry Kissinger, an American diplomat, political scientist, geopolitical consultant, and politician who served as United States secretary of state and national security advisor under the presidential administrations of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford had one known sibling, a brother, Walter Bernhard Kissinger.

Walter was born on June 24, 1924, in Fürth, Germany, and emigrated to the United States with his family in 1938.

Walter was a successful businessman and philanthropist, known for his role as the president and chief executive of the Allen Group, a multinational conglomerate based in Melville, N.Y.

Walter was also a director of the Long Island United Way and was dedicated to regional economic development and promoting ethical business practices.

Walter Kissinger passed away on May 3, 2021, at the age of 96, at his home in San Rafael, Calif., due to long-term renal failure.

He was survived by his three sons, William Kissinger, Thomas Kissinger, and John Kissingford, and his daughter Dana Kissinger-Matray.

Henry Kissinger passed away on November 29, 2023, two years after his brother’s demise.
