The Ministry of Health (MoH) has mandated the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to provide a comprehensive report on the investigation into the alleged abandonment of a patient at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region within 30 days.

The directive, issued by Health Minister Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye on Friday, June 14, follows the release of a video that has generated significant public outcry. The footage, which surfaced on Thursday, June 13, purportedly shows a woman wrapped in sheets, abandoned in a bush.

The incident, which has ignited widespread discussion on social media, involves claims that an ambulance from the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba left the woman in the bush. This shocking revelation prompted the GHS to immediately initiate an investigation to uncover the facts surrounding the incident.
In his directive to the GHS, Dr. Okoe Boye stressed the urgency and importance of a timely resolution, stating, “It is the position of the Ministry that this process is concluded within a maximum of 30 days from the date of constitution of the committee and a report submitted to my office.”
