Hanks Anuku Denies Claims of Drug Use and Smoking

Veteran Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku denies ever being involved in illicit substances while confirming that he has quit smoking cigarettes.

The actor revealed this while addressing a viral video that wrongly portrayed him as mentally unstable.

In 2022, a troubling video emerged online showing Hanks Anuku dressed in ragged attire and seeming to converse with himself, sparking widespread speculation about his mental well-being.

During a discussion with content creator Lucky Udu, Anuku dismissed these rumors, emphasizing that he does not participate in any activities that could compromise his mental health.

In the conversation, Anuku said: “I am not a mad man… Some people say I was on hard drugs. I don’t do hard drugs. Back in the days I used to smoke but not anymore.

“I never went into anything hard drugs. I have self control. There’s probably where I was depressed and had to have a little drink like beers or wine. That’s it. I don’t drink hard liquor. But I was just isolated because I never thought I would be betrayed by my own people. It hurt me so much.”
