In a candid announcement shared on social media, Blanchard opened up about the separation and her current living arrangements.
“People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation, and I moved in with my parents’ home down the bayou,” Blanchard wrote, referencing her decision to reside with her father, Rod Blanchard, and stepmother, Kristy.
“I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find … who I am.”

Blanchard’s marriage to Ryan Scott Anderson, a Louisiana-based teacher, was a notable event in her journey to reclaim autonomy over her life.
The wedding, which took place in prison in 2022, symbolized a new chapter for Blanchard, whose past was marked by the controlling grip of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
Dee Dee’s tragic death in 2015, at the hands of Gypsy’s then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, uncovered a disturbing tale of manipulation and abuse that captivated public attention.
As Blanchard navigates this latest chapter in her life, she remains surrounded by the support of her loved ones, seeking solace and understanding as she continues to find her footing.
