Dr. Obeng recalled a time when Mr. Mahama, in his role as Vice President, took action based on a proposal from GUTA to fund his Savannah Project. In a meeting with Mr. Mahama on Monday, April 8, Dr. Obeng expressed his respect for Mr. Mahama’s previous actions.

He remembered how they were among the first to visit Mr. Mahama at the castle when he became Vice President. They had a detailed discussion, and Dr. Obeng noticed that Mr. Mahama took the time to listen.

They had suggested that Mr. Mahama could finance his Savannah Project by utilizing the underused Export Trade, Agricultural and Industrial Development Fund (EDAIF).

Mr. Mahama listened to their advice and acknowledged that wisdom can come from many people, not just one. This showed Dr. Obeng that Mr. Mahama is a leader who is receptive to advice.
