The Greek professional soccer player Giakoumakis plays as a striker for Major League Soccer club Atlanta United FC and the Greece national team.
Giakoumakis started his football career with Atsalenios’ youth team.
Following his three-year stints with Atsalenios’ youth setup, Giakoumakis was promoted to the club’s senior team in 2011 where played one season before joining Platanias.

During his time with Platanias, he was loaned to Episkopi from January 2014 till the end of the season. Giakoumakis return to Platanias after the season and remained there till 2017.
Before joining Atlanta, he played for AEK Athens (2017–2020), VVV-Venlo (2020–2021), and Celtic (2021–2023).
Giakoumakis has played 17 matches in the 2023 MLS season. He has 10 goals, 0 assists, 6 yellow cards, and 0 red cards.
Internationally, Giakoumakis represented Greece’s national team at under-21 before being called up to the senior national team in 2020.
