Today marks the 64th independence day celebration of The Republic of Ghana and as part of measures to make the day well celebrated, Ghanaians and celebrities have started a “FlagTheFace” challenge on Twitter.

The Flag the Face challenge is a challenge where Ghanaians grid beautiful photos of themselves and the Ghana flag on the internet to portray a message to the world that the country is endowed with beautiful people.

Ghana celebrates its independence day every 6th March to remember how the country gained independence from Britain. Ghana became a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and was led to independence by Kwame Nkrumah who transformed the country into a republic
Meanwhile, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s anniversary was held at the jubilee house with few dignitaries in attendance. The usual ceremony is coupled with a guard of honour and other activities.
