Ghana commenced their journey at the 2024 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations with a loss to Zambia on Thursday, April 11th.

Andrea Cristoforetti’s team staged a comeback after conceding an early lead to Ghana, who surged ahead with Emmanuel Pako Nakotey’s superb finish just five minutes into the game.
The Southern Africans leveled the game before halftime, with Patrick Banda finding the net for their equalizer.
Chinyama’s powerful long-range shot, which flew beyond Raphael Tsigbe, handed Chipolopolo the lead just two minutes into the second half.

Within a minute, Zambia’s striker Wiseman Phiri found the net for his third goal of the game, capitalizing on a first-time pass from Prince Lungu to put him through on goal.
With eight minutes remaining, Philip Nii Boye narrowed Ghana’s deficit by converting Saviour Tsatsu’s pass, beating Jackson Chitungu in goal.
The Zambian team dashed Ghana’s hopes of staging a late comeback by scoring two goals in quick succession, courtesy of Mbalika Mwaliteta and Jackson Simwami. This victory propelled Zambia to the top of Group A.
Ghana will face Morocco in their next group game.
